Prepare the pudding. In a medium bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes until thickened. The faster you whisk, the creamier it gets—don’t cheat.
Whip the cream. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form. Optional but highly recommended.
Assemble the shots. Spoon pudding into mini cups or shot glasses, filling them about 3/4 full.
Top with whipped cream. Dollop or pipe it over the pudding. Don’t be shy—this is the showstopper.
Add garnish. Sprinkle chocolate shavings, sprinkles, or even a tiny drizzle of caramel on top. Presentation matters.
Chill for at least 1 hour. Let everything set and flavors meld. The longer, the better.
