Ingredients

  • 1 cup coarsely ground coffee don’t use fine powder unless you enjoy mud
  • 3 –4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Milk or cream optional but recommended for smoothness
  • Sweetener sugar, honey, or syrup—your choice
  • Pinch of cinnamon or cocoa optional, for “I’m fancy now” energy

Instructions

  • Mix coffee and water.
  • Add ground coffee to a jar or bowl. Pour in cold water and stir gently. Don’t overthink it—just make sure all grounds are soaked.
  • Let it sit (aka the hardest part).
  • Cover and let it steep for 12–18 hours in the fridge or at room temp. Yes, it takes time—but you’re doing nothing, so relax.
  • Strain the coffee.
  • Use a fine strainer, cheesecloth, or coffee filter to remove the grounds. Pro tip: strain twice for extra smoothness.
  • Dilute if needed.
  • Cold brew is strong. Mix with water or milk depending on your taste. Start small—you can always add more.
  • Serve over ice.
  • Pour into a glass with ice. Add milk, sweetener, or flavor extras if you like.
  • Sip and feel cool.
  • That’s it. You just made your own midnight elixir.
