Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets about 6 oz each, skin on or off—your call
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari gluten-free if needed
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice or orange juice optional, for brightness
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes optional, for a gentle kick
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds and chopped scallions for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Prep the pan: Pat salmon dry, then season with salt and pepper. Preheat your skillet over medium-high heat until it sizzles when you flick water.
  • Make the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and lemon juice. If you like a touch of heat, whisk in the chili flakes.
  • Sear the salmon: Add olive oil to the hot pan. Place salmon skin-side down (if skin is on). Cook 3–4 minutes until the edges look opaque.
  • Flip and glaze: Flip the fillets, then spoon the honey-garlic glaze over them. Cook 2–3 minutes, basting gently, until the sauce thickens and the salmon is just cooked through.
  • Finish and rest: Remove from heat. Let the salmon rest for a minute to keep it juicy. If you want extra shine, drizzle a tiny bit more glaze on top.
