Ingredients

  • 2 slices of your favorite bread – sourdough whole wheat, or even a nice multigrain. Toasting is key.
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese – creamy dreamy, and the star of the show.
  • 2 –3 fresh figs sliced – if figs aren’t in season, frozen or dried (rehydrated) works too.
  • 1 –2 teaspoons honey for drizzling – pick your favorite, even lavender or clover honey adds personality.
  • Optional toppings:
  • Chopped nuts almonds, pistachios, or walnuts
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Dash of cinnamon or nutmeg

Instructions

  • Toast the bread
  • Pop your slices in the toaster or oven until golden and slightly crispy. The crunch is non-negotiable—it’s what holds everything together.
  • Spread the ricotta
  • Slather a generous layer of ricotta over each slice. Don’t be stingy—you want that creamy blanket to cover every inch.
  • Layer the figs
  • Arrange sliced figs over the ricotta. If you’re feeling fancy, fan them out in a circular pattern for extra visual appeal.
  • Drizzle honey
  • Grab your honey and drizzle it generously over the figs. Sweet, sticky, and just a little messy in the best way possible.
  • Add optional toppings
  • Sprinkle with nuts, a pinch of cinnamon, or fresh mint leaves. These little extras aren’t necessary, but they make your toast look like you know what you’re doing (even if you don’t).
  • Serve immediately
  • Don’t wait—ricotta gets melty and figs get sad if it sits too long. Snap a pic, then dig in.
