Ingredients

  • For the Matcha Soak:
  • 2 tablespoons matcha green tea powder – high-quality for vibrant color and flavor.
  • 1/2 cup hot water – just off the boil.
  • 1 teaspoon sugar – optional balances the bitterness.
  • For the White Chocolate Cream:
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese – creamy and dreamy.
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream – whipped to soft peaks.
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate melted and cooled – smooth sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar – for gentle sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – flavor booster.
  • For Assembly:
  • 24 –30 ladyfingers – the base of all tiramisu goodness.
  • Matcha powder – for dusting.
  • White chocolate shavings – optional garnish but why not be fancy?

Instructions

  • Prep the Matcha Soak
  • Whisk matcha powder, hot water, and sugar in a shallow dish until smooth. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. This will give your ladyfingers that earthy green tea flavor.
  • Make the White Chocolate Cream
  • Whip heavy cream to soft peaks. In another bowl, combine mascarpone, melted white chocolate, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Gently fold whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture. Fold, don’t mix like a tornado!
  • Dip the Ladyfingers
  • Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the matcha mixture—1–2 seconds max, don’t soak them like a sponge. Lay them in a single layer at the bottom of your serving dish.
  • Layer the Cream
  • Spread half of the white chocolate cream over the ladyfingers. Smooth gently with a spatula.
  • Repeat Layers
  • Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers, then the remaining cream. Smooth the top and sprinkle lightly with matcha powder. Add white chocolate shavings if you’re feeling fancy.
  • Chill
  • Cover and chill for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight. This helps the layers set beautifully and lets the flavors meld.
